When the makers of “Keep Smokers Tooth Polish” came to us in their primary problem was to move their product off the retail shelf.  This particular ad campaign was a good lesson in market research.

Market research is always utilized in our advertising campaigns so we sent a survey team to find out what the smoking public was really looking for when it came to toothpaste.  The answers came back but it was not something the client was looking for.  They had a fixed idea as to what they thought the best creative should be.  It took a while but we finally educated the client on the merits of market research.  After understanding how important this was to success or failure, the client went along with utilizing the survey results in the TV campaign.  The end result was a very successful commercial that pushed product off the shelf for three years with no changes in the commercial.
